Janet L. Villarmia, MBA, Associate Director for Administration, is the chief Administrative and Financial Officer of the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and sits on the Executive Committee and Cancer Center Leadership Council. In her role, she actively participates in the short- and long-term planning for the Cancer Center. Ms. Villarmia joined USC in 2001 and the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in 2007, and has over fifteen years of senior academic and research administration experience.
She provides strategic oversight of the center’s administration, operations, finance and business, space and facilities planning, IT, program and shared resource development, patient education and community outreach functions. She is also responsible for maintaining collaborations with the other NCI-designated cancer centers, the American Cancer Society, and other organizations involved in cancer education and outreach. In addition, she is the center's liaison with state and federal legislators on issues impacting cancer research.
She is an active member of the Cancer Center Administrators Forum, Society for Research Administrators, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She also serves as advisor to several organizations including to the USC St. George Oncology Society.
Ms. Villarmia holds a bachelor of science in chemical engineering, a master of business administration, and a master of leadership.
