| Robert W. Haile, Dr.P.H. is the Associate Director for Cause and Prevention Research at the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is Professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine, and the AFLAC Chair in Cancer Research.
Dr. Haile obtained his doctorate in epidemiology from UCLA in 1979. He then served as a visiting scientist at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in Oxford. He joined the faculty in the Department of Epidemiology at UCLA in 1982 and attained the rank of Full Professor before joining the Department of Preventive Medicine at USC in 1994 |

Dr. Haile is a recognized leader in the genetic epidemiology of cancer. He has served as a member of EDC2 (a review group at NCI) and the Board of Scientific Advisors at NCI and Chair of the Steering Committee for the International Colon Cancer Family Registry. He has over 150 publications in peer-reviewed journals and ranks among the top faculty in the country in terms of NCI funding. | Dr. Haile’s research focuses on the causes and prevention of colorectal and breast cancer, including a number of multi-institutional, international collaborative projects. |
| As Associate Director for Cause and Prevention Research, Dr. Haile directly oversees the activities of the research programs in Cancer Epidemiology and Cancer Control, and overlapping with the Associate Director for Clinical Research, the oversight of the Women’s Cancers Program. | |
