Burton Eisenberg, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a professor of clinical surgery at USC/Keck Medical Center. He is the Executive Medical Director of the Hoag Family Cancer Institute at Hoag Hospital as well as a member of the Executive Committee of the Norris Cancer Center. Dr. Eisenberg also holds the Grace E. Hoag Endowed Chair. He has direct responsibilities for coordinating the clinical and research programs for the USC Norris/Hoag-Cancer programs.

Dr. Eisenberg is a graduate of the University Of Tennessee School Of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center followed by a Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Eisenberg has been active in academic medicine for over 25 years, having positions of Chair of Surgery at Fox Chase Cancer Center and most recently as the Deputy Director of the Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Dartmouth. He is a past chair of the RTOG Sarcoma Committee, author of over 150 peer reviewed publications and book chapters, PI of several national clinical research trials, and has directed clinical and research interests in sarcoma, melanoma and precision medicine. In addition, Dr. Eisenberg is a member of several national professional societies including American Association for Cancer Research and Society of Surgical Oncology. He also serves on the advisory board for the National Foundation for Melanoma Research and the Sarcoma Alliance.
